The challenge
An existing hosting environment needed to support growth and demonstrate tenant isolation.
AWS infrastructure built around tenant boundaries.
An existing hosting environment needed to support growth and demonstrate tenant isolation.
An AWS re-architecture with ECS Fargate, encrypted data stores, WAF and repeatable Terraform modules.
A phased migration with tenant isolation confirmed through a third-party security review.

Assignar is a field operations management platform used by construction and infrastructure teams across Australia and North America. tMinus1 led the cloud migration from a legacy hosting environment to AWS, re-architecting for multi-tenancy, security hardening and elastic scale.
Assignar's existing infrastructure was a single-tenant shared hosting environment that could not scale with customer growth and had no defined security boundary between tenants. Compliance obligations from enterprise clients required demonstrable isolation and audit-ready logging.
Full re-architecture onto AWS using ECS Fargate for workload isolation, RDS with per-tenant encryption, and a WAF configuration tuned to the application traffic patterns. Terraform modules ensured repeatable, auditable infrastructure. A phased migration plan delivered zero-downtime cutover over six weeks.
Discovery and architecture design (weeks 1–2), Terraform build and parallel environment validation (weeks 3–5), traffic cutover and hypercare (week 6).
Zero production incidents during cutover. Tenant isolation confirmed by third-party security review. Infrastructure cost reduced 28% versus previous hosting. Onboarding time for new enterprise clients dropped from four weeks to five days.
